Reports To:  Roofing Foreman

Basic Function: The Roofing Laborer is an Entry-level position into the roofing industry, and they are responsible for assisting the Roofing Mechanics and Roofing Foreman in the completion of tasks related to removing and installing, or repairing of roofing systems.

Salary $20-24/Hour commensurate with roofing/construction experience

Responsibilities:        

  • Render support in the installation of roofing systems 
  • Apply an understanding of safety as it applies to the roofing trade 
  • Removing existing roofing systems 
  • Clean work area and equipment, setting up of ladders, scaffolds and hoists in place for taking supplies to roof 
  • Prepare the roofs the application of new roofing system 
  • Responsible for taking down materials and tools from work trucks and unroll roofing as directed 
  • Maintain tools and equipment pre- and post-work 
    • Working in a safe manner that complies with OSHA safety Standards 
  • Set up safety related equipment to protect the project site 
  • Safely climb a ladder frequently to supply materials
  • Communication with Site Foreman and Roofing Mechanic in order to complete daily projects 
  • Maintaining the project site in a neat and orderly fashion 

 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to identify types of roofing materials and implement proper installation and repair 
  • Ability to use all hand tools associated with roofing install including simple hand tools 
  • Ability to identify safety hazards on projects and take corrective measure to eliminate risk 
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy weighted objects including materials and equipment 
  • Comfortable working with ladders and at heights  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Functions effectively as part of a team
  • OSHA 10 (Will be provided after hire if needed)
  • Minimum 1+ years of industry experience
